Recurrence families stay together where needed. Size targets are advisory because an indivisible event/family may exceed the target. Timezones and calendar metadata are preserved.

Will a recurrence series be expanded?

Not by splitting. Masters and overrides retain their relationships; use bounded extraction for individual occurrence exports.
